It’s official the crop top is back! Toned tummies here we come. Every part of nineties style has returned and the last time I wore a crop top I think I was about nine and it had the Spice Girls on it! As they say Fashion has two legs that keep on walking and now they have walked back round again – except this time it’s about being demure, stylish and sassy.

Straight from the catwalk itself the crop top is back and shown above in the various ways it can be worn, I personally love the look with a high waisted skirt so you just glimpse a peek of tummy. Here’s how some celebs have been wearing the trend:

I am loving the crop top aesthetic and I think as long as you’re just showing a little tummy it’s okay, I particularly like the lacey and loose fitting styles especially with long skirts and tailored trousers. It’s the season for – Maxi Skirts

I love this time of year where it’s starting to get warm and you whip out your maxi skirt, maybe with an ankle boot at first and then as the weather improves you can team with with flip flops – that’s when you know summer is here.

This year there are a great range of maxi skirts available on the High Street and this season the main look is to wear the maxi skirt high- waisted with a crop top – if you dare to bare you’re midriff that is. They are a great garment to layer and to dress up or down. Here’s some street style inspiration:

Loving this look and as soon as it stops raining I will pulling my maxi skirt out of the closet, I really like the dipped hem options and the midi skirts for this season too. Maxi skirts will you be wearing them this Summer? XOXO

I love this time of year where you’re shopping for your summer wardrobe – just in case we might actually get some warm, sunny weather – and my favourite festival for style inspiration Coachella comes around so I can pour over the images and inspire my wardrobe. Renowned for oozing with effortless boho meets rock chick style, the celebrities always look amazing so here’s the looks so far for 2013:

I am loving the styles this year with western boots, denim cut offs, lace vests, printed tees and fedora hats being must haves. Being a festival people tend to wear outfits that maybe they wouldn’t wear everyday but that’s all part of the fun of festivals. Coachella style what do you think? XOXO

Floral prints are the hottest thing this Spring fashion season and in true fashion hierarchy style – from the catwalk to the high street, floral prints are everywhere! More than this, the trend for clashing prints and colours makes this look more of statement. I just wanted to post a blog on how some people are rocking this trend for a little bit of fashion inspiration:

Going along with the nineties revival and in particular grunge style, I am definitely feeling a check shirt could be on the fashion cards. I’m thinking bold check style, most likely an oversized option, layered over skinnies, with just a hint of Nirvana.

It’s casual, cool and easy to wear, all in all effortless chic at its best. What I love about a check shirt is the androgynous style, they look so good on both boys and girls:

Dungarees: back for good!

I am so excited that dungarees are back in fashion, the nostalgia of the nineties is rife this Spring fashion season and what better than styling up a denim gem to make it current and on trend. If you’re unsure of how well the dungarees trend will translate in 2013 here’s a little street style inspiration:

Due to the various washes of denim and styles in which dungarees can be worn you can create a variety of different looks.

I love the layered look of dungarees over a cropped top and maybe with a bowler hat. When the weather is warmer I would rock the long legged dungarees with flip flops and maybe the shorts version with some cute wedges and definitely accessorize them with a satchell. Happy Easter everyone! Hope you’re all having a great Sunday, I just wanted to post a little blog about bunny prints what with it being Easter and all.

As you can see bunnies make great inspiration when it comes to clothes, jewellery and accessories. The classic bunny silhouette makes for super cute designs and lends itself to many colours and ways in which it can be presented. This is my favourite top by American brand Primp, it’s on trend being a loose cropped t-shirt and dotted with a cute bunny silhouette.

Colour Blazers: So hot right now!

There’s nothing smarter than a blazer teamed with jeans for a smart casual look, this Spring season ditch the black blazer and opt for a super cute colour replacement.

I personally am loving the pastel and candy colour options. Here’s some street style inspiration:

Zebra style – fashion forward or fashion faux pas?

You can’t have lived through the past month without seeing someone rocking a pair of black & white striped trousers, they are literally everywhere. Now Monochrome and the Sixties are both trends that are huge for this Spring / Summer season but are we thinking this particular striped trouser trend is uber stylish or uber Beetlejuice?

Zebra trousers, stylish or scary?

Shown on the runway at Michael Kors this trend has now filtered down through the fashion hierarchy to models, celebrities and now to the street, but I can’t help but question are people wearing these trousers because fashion dictated we should or because they actually think they look good?

On the chic runway at Michael Kors the monochrome striped trousers looked great – on the other hand it’s fashion week pretty much anything that goes down that catwalk is deemed the height of fashion. You then see model of the moment Cara Delevigne sporting these striped sensations, she looks great in everything and even makes this trend cool. However the trend meets the celebrity and in particular Miley Cyrus – seriously look at this picture – say no more! Then street style, to be honest the street style picture is my favourite as the styling makes the trousers seem less offensive.

If these trousers had not been deemed ‘trendy’ for this season would so many people be wearing them? I don’t think they would as you don’t tend to wake up and think – I’m going to base my outfit on a zebra crossing today. Don’t get me wrong I love fashion and experimenting with trends but for me there’s a cut off. If I don’t like a particular trend I won’t wear it just because it’s in fashion.

In the images above there are some different styles of trouser with the same stripes, I think the fitted flare trousers are okay but the cropped pants and legging style ones I’m not so keen on. The only pro I can find to this garment is that they lengthen the leg. Overall (as you can probably tell) I’m not really a fan of the zebra style ensemble and I find the tight leggings versions utterly hideous.
